Conductor, Studio Rockestra
Courtney Monk is thrilled to take the helm of Sinfonia this year, in addition to her role leading Studio Rockestra, formerly Rockin' Strings, since 2019. She is an active private teacher, performer, Kindermusik teacher and clinician in the OKC metro. Previously, she taught for ten years as an Orchestra Director in Putnam City at Kenneth Cooper Middle School, Northridge Elementary, Tulakes Elementary, Wiley Post Elementary and Central Intermediate.
Mrs. Monk received her Bachelor of Music Education degree, with emphasis in conducting, from Oklahoma City University in 2005. While attending, she did a three-week concert tour across China with the orchestra, performed in the Opera & Music Theatre Orchestras and was concertmaster for several concerts with the legendary Smokey Robinson. She has been playing violin for 27 years and is a proud alumnus of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras having been a member of Festival Strings, Oklahoma Youth Philharmonic and Oklahoma Youth Orchestra.

She currently performs with the Enid Symphony Orchestra and Sempre Strings. Mrs. Monk resides in Oklahoma City with her husband Dru and their children, Elise, Eva and Ezra.
